Seminar on :How will the new Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordinance

We are pleased to inform you that EMSD has kindly agreed to conduct a seminar to members on the above subject. Details are as follows :

Programme Outline:
The Buildings Energy Efficiency Ordnance (Cap. 610) (Ordinance) had been enacted in Nov 2010, and will come into full operation in Sep 2012. The objective of the Ordinance is to require the compliance with EMSD・s Building Energy Code (BEC) for energy efficiency of building services installations and Energy Audit Code (EAC) for energy audit. The seminar will briefly introduce the frameworks, the control regime & compliance requirements of the Ordinance and give an overview of the codes.

Speakers: Ir Osman Lau & Ir Brian Leung

Ir Osman Lau and Ir Brian Leung are engineers of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD). Ir Lau and Ir Leung have actively participated in the development of the Ordinance and the BEC & EAC. Ir Lau had over 15 years experience on design and project management of building services installations in multi-storey buildings of private and public sectors. Ir Leung also had over 15 years experience on design and project management of a wide variety of building projects.

Both Ir Lau and Ir Leung have various professional qualifications, including corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (MHKIE) and Registered Professional Engineer (RPE).

The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese with English terms as supplement.

The contents will be useful to us as E&M contractors. This is an excellent opportunity to know first hand from the regulatory body about the requirements of the Ordinance. Do not miss the chance to exchange your views on these issues.
