A briefing session on the Scheme will be organised by the Bureau on 23 August 2011 (Tuesday). Details and Registration Form are also attached.

Please be informed the proposed 2012 Edition of the General Specifications for the following building services installations have been drafted by ArchSD :

- Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, Ventilation and Central Monitoring & Control System Installation
- Broadcast Reception Installation
- Catering Equipment Installation
- Electrical Installation
- Fire Service Installation
- Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Installation
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas Installation
- Mechanical Installation
- Swimming Pool Water Treatment Installation

It is scheduled that the 2012 Edition will be finalized for formal release by the end of 2011. ArchSD would welcome any comments from members by 7 July 2011.

Construction Workers Registration Authority (CWRA) would like to remind the principal contractors to establish and maintain a register for recording statements made by registered construction workers who cannot produce their registration cards while working on the construction sites.

We are advised by ArchSD that Hong Kong Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works - Fourth Edition (HKSMM4), published by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, will be adopted in the bills of quantities for works contracts to be tendered after Jan 1, 2008.

The Model Bills of Quantities for Building Works 2007 Edition, newly revised to suit the changes required under HKSMM4, is now available for viewing on ArchSD's Internet homepage (http://www.archsd.gov.hk/).

Construction Workers Registration Authority (CWRA) has publicized a Press Release on 18 May 2007 in explanation of "Only registered construction workers can carry out construction work on construction sites from September 1". The Press Release is attached for your reference.

EMSD has announced that an Addendum to the Code of Practice for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations (CoP) in relation to the new CCC has been issued, and the corresponding Gazette Notice was published on 23 March 2007.
