Since 2003, with your support, our “E&M Safety Walk and Carnival Fair” was held successfully every year. This year is the 13th anniversary of the event and it will be held from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on 6 December 2015 (Sunday) at 「Sun Fu Tai BBQ (新富泰燒烤埸)」at Tuen Mun (屯門虎地). The programme includes morning drill exercise, hiking, safety quiz, drama and various games and lucky draws. Lunch will be provided in BBQ style.

Registration will be starting from 2 November 2015 (Monday) . Please refer to the attached flyer for the registration procedure.

The construction industry remains one of the risky industries. Despite the implementation of safety management system and various good safety practices, further improvements can be gained in construction safety through the use of innovative approaches and safety technologies to reduce preventable injuries and deaths. In this evening seminar, we have invited a few speakers to discuss and share different safety initiatives and technologies such as cordless and ductless technologies, building information modeling, mobile technologies, etc., which are suitable for improving safety in the electrical and mechanical works.

One Page Summary :

A monitoring tool developed to provide an overview of a complex project from design to project completion. The writer identifies 7 common problems of access and 7 key project attributes which will help senior management to address these issues and take appropriate action to manage the project effectively.

Competition Ordinance & Law Practice :

The ordinance promotes competition and economic growth by prohibiting anti-competitive conduct in businesses. Anti-competitive conduct includes agreements between competitors that harm competition. Members can find out from the talk how contractors’ associations should facilitate interaction between members and must themselves also be aware of their obligations under the Competition Ordinance.

We would like to bring to Members' attention a new arrangement whereby you, as a company member of HKFEMC, can help your own workers to apply for registration as Senior Workers.

To explain briefly, the “Construction Workers Registration (Amendment Ordinance 2014” will take effect on 1 April, 2015. Registered Construction Workers with at least 10 years relevant work experience can apply for registration as Skilled Workers of the corresponding trade divisions through the one-off Senior Workers Registration Arrangement (SWRA) without the need of taking trade tests.
